I use the yo-yos to make leis for folks who are leaving the island. (Flower leis are given as a wish for the person receiving it to make a quick return).
I have used all tropical prints for some. The yo-yos are strung together through their centers to make the length you want and the ends are tied together. A small silk tropical flower and or bow can be attached to the front. Sometimes I use a button or bead as a spacer between the yo-yos to show off the fabric. Scraps of batting can be cut into circles and placed inside the fabric circle before the ends are drawn up to form the yo-yo. This gives an added puffiness.
