I have never been happy trying to remove fused fabric. I would take out just a bit of the quilting and if you have enough fabric, add holy and berries to the rest of the green sashing top and the tops of the ornament. When I first looked at it, I thought you meant to just add the berries and holly to the top of the ornaments to look like they were hanging and had mistakenly added it to the sashing.

It looks like you already have your quilt on the frame so for now, I would pin the appliqués in place and do the quilting around them and fuse them after the quilting is done? What kind of batt are you using? Can you fuse with an iron on it later? I know polyester batt tends to melt when ironed.
