dust? how did you wash them? I made burlap sided shades a few years ago for a family member- I stitched around the edges of the burlap so it would not fray-then put them into the washer with detergent, on a gentle cycle- then I tossed them into the dryer- on low heat to speed up drying- then steam pressed them to get the wrinkles out- I do not remember dealing with any 'dust' while working with them.
