Smile Hooray for me!

I was browsing CL a couple weeks ago and came across a Bernina 1130 for sale at a very reasonable price. My quilting friends convinced me to look into it and then convince my DH that it was worth the $500 price tag. I did some research and found that what she was asking was less than half of what it was listed for on E-Bay and there were extras with it. The only thing missing is the cover and the machine is too heavy for me to carry around. I intend to put it into a sewing table I already have, so that didn't deter me at all. The seller's MIL had been a seamstress and this had been one of her machines. The seller doesn't sew, doesn't want to learn and had no idea of the value of the 1130, until someone else told her it was worth selling. I went over there yesterday and did a "test drive". It sewed perfectly and I now am the proud owner! One of my friends was a Bernina dealer some years ago and is coming over tomorrow morning to give it a thorough check up. The MIL must have loved this machine, because it was nearly spotlessly clean when I got it home and wiped it down. The manuals and information booklets look new and the extra feet that were included were each packaged in little re-sealable bags with the slightly yellowed instructions (which are in several languages, including Swedish). Oh yes, the seller threw in a dozen bobbins, too. I am a happy, happy camper!!
