What I do with scraps...
I just came across a disc of photos that had gone missing from my DD's Aug 2012 wedding and wanted to share. Just FYI part of this is somewhat off topic but still fabric related...
This first photo is the ring bearer's pillow. DD requested something in bright colors that a 6-yr-old boy might actually want to keep. The squares were fussy-cut mostly from scraps, a few from stash. I was on a plane to WA state for the wedding as I stitched the binding down.

Also at DD's request, we made fabric flowers of every sort we could think of for the bridesmaids, the bride's bouquet and to decorate the church. It was a lot of work, but a lot of fun and mostly a lot of great memories. Obviously not all the fabrics were quilting scraps, but many of them were.

The "ribbons" on the flower girl's basket were fabric strips.

Dollar Store jars of flowers were used to line the aisles. (This photo was taken in the kitchen. I couldn't figure out how to cut out the Krispy Kreme box in the background. Oops, guess I'm busted!)

The bride selected her favorites for her bouquet. The white one was made from scraps from MY wedding gown, made by my mother and myself 25 years before.

We made flowers from wool, velveteen, poly satins, felt, knotted ribbons, organza, thrift shop t-shirts in awesome colors, and a few others I've forgotten. If it had an interesting sheen or texture, we tried it. Some didn't work so well and didn't make the cut. It became rather addicting. We considered opening a fabric flower shop...
