When my ironing board is freshly washed, I iron a large piece of freezer paper onto my cover before using starch. It really keeps the surface cleaner. When the freezer paper starts to look nasty, I peel off the dirty piece and iron on another piece.
Absolutely love this idea. *heading off to cupboard to get my freezer paper* and I'm just going to leave it in my sewing room because I never use it in the kitchen anyway! lol
