I am struggling to have good scant 1/4 inch seam on my Juki.
I have found the best thing to use was a piece of masking tape. On my small Janome 5024 it's been there since I started quilting in 2003. I check my measurement every so often but it seem to remain consistent. I have a 1/4" foot for each of my 4 Janomes but have noticed the bar can move. On my Janome 6600, which is my main piecing machine, I use the markings on the presser plate.
