I just wanted to drop a line to say a big THANK YOU to everyone here. I have always been a quilter - for years off and on. But never took things serious... always borrowed my sister's machine and hand pieced and hand quilted while I watched TV. This spring when we lost my nephew in a horrible accident I was inspired to make memory quilts with his clothes. I had no idea what I was getting into - if I had known I probably would have kept my mouth shut. But having this great group here to ask questions and encourage me I finished the memory quilts this weekend - - all 7 are now complete!! I never could have done this on my own... from interfacing, to binding....
and yes even to buying my own sewing machine. So thank you everyone. Now I just have to decide if I want to give her the quilts now or save them for a Christmas gift (the brother of the nephew that was killed will be home from the Marines at Christmas time, so it would be nice to share with him)
