If you looked up the serial number to get the date and model number - check and make sure you have the correct number. it gets goofy for the G series as Singer went from 000,000 to 999,999 and then went to 1,000,000 up to 9,999,999 and then since they needed more, jumped to 0,000,000 and went to 0,999,999
You mention it's a 128. What's the difference in a 127 and 128, manufacturing sequence?
