My sis started me on hexi making and since I like to do small things I went with a half inch hexi. Because there are many ways of making these I think it is important one should stay with the same process of constructing the pieces in each project.
I downloaded the pattern from this site:

http://incompetech.com/graphpaper/hexagonal/

I printed the pattern onto freezer paper cut to size (8 1/2 x 11 inches). I cut squares larger than the hexi size and iron the cut freezer paper patterns onto the squares. FP holds the pattern in place with no shifting and can be reused several times.
Here's my first finished project

I am now working on a GMFG using this size as a doll quilt for my 3 yo GD. It's such a fun take along project.
