I find that I need a ruler to FMQ straight lines on my DSM. Check out

on how to use a ruler with your DSM. If you are FMQ wavy lines, is it going to be one sunburst or many? You can stack layers of tissue paper and sew through them following your drawn sunburst pencil lines with a empty needle on your sewing machine. You can then pin the tissue pattern to the quilt for quilting and follow the perforations for the design. The tissue easily tears away after the stitching and you have no marks on the quilt surface. I am not sure of the design you are planning so that's all I can think if.
