Default Plaid charity quilt

I have always wanted to make a quilt that, to me, definitely looks like a man's quilt. A donation came to our quilting seniors group... part was a stack of cut up plaid flannel shirts and pajamas. No one wanted to take it on so they shoved the pile my way. I needed an easy pattern but not just plain blocks. I cut all into 12.5" squares because that is the size of my square up ruler . Then I placed them face to face and sewed either side of the diagonal, then repeated. I was so proud that the points all met perfectly in the center. Putting the blocks together was a different story... mismatched points. You definitely have to gallop by for the best view

About a week ago, we put it into our annual sale along with a dozen other quilts, many smaller hand sewn items, and lots of garage sale items. Mine was the only quilt that sold and I was so pleased but disappointed for the group. There were about a dozen of the fabric boxes and none of them sold. The biggest money raiser was reversible two-season placemats in sets of six and pillowcases.
