Fat Quarter pickings around here are slim to practically none except batiks; prices are also high. So I buy my FQs online and when I'm on the mainland.
OK, it's not near you but a "Day Trip" away. Mammaw's Thimble in Knoxville is well worth the trip. She has FQs below every bolt of fabric. The shop is huge, the people are nice, and the selection of fabric is to die for! I miss it terribly.

As mentioned above, Connecting Threads has fantastic prices and I've bought kaboodles of FQs from C.T. and have never been disappointed. Those sweeties have thrown in extra cuts more than once in my packages. 
I've also bought a lot of FQs from Crazyquiltgirl. Prompt service, great prices, a great selection from name-brands, and she's a nice person (which counts in my book).
