I would like to make a few flannel quilts but was wondering if rag quilts were to feminine looking for the guys? Or should I stick to a more masculine pattern?

And while I am one the subject of flannels, what is the difference between 100% flannel and 100% cotton shirting flannel? The shirting flannel is so much softer!!!!!
