Thanks Ladies......I knew I could count on you for answers! since I posted this, I tried a couple more times. The quilting looked "ok" from underneath at first, but I was then having skipped stitches (as quoted above). After about a 12 square inch area taking way took long and two repairs, I called her and said it wasn't working; took a photo and sent it to her. She is now looking for a more suitable backing, and I am ripping out stitches. Glad to know that the skipped stitches was NOT just my tension.
