Check the length of the shank. Shanks come in 2 length - short and long. My singet takes a short shank walking foot. Since the foot does not sit on the fabric that lead me to believe you have the wrong length shank . check Kens sewing center on line for correct shank number. Also you can ususally buy one fairly cheap at Joanns at a store that does not have a Viking Sewing center in it. Amazon will return items very easily.
