Science Fact! That would be effective, as long as she uses the Windex with ammonia. The ammonia-free versions would probably not make you itch less. The most common explanation I've heard for this is that bug bites often contain acids, so the basic ammonia neutralizes them, in the same way that baking soda in a bath or paste form does. I'm not sure the chemistry is right, but I have found that ammonia helps.
