I use both Organ & Schmetz on mine, zero problems.
I've even used some "mystery" needles that I think probably came with my 90's Kenmore machine and didn't have any trouble at all. I don't think this machine is picky when it comes to needles. I didn't know there were Janome brand needles!
I DO use Janome brand bobbins, though, it
does seem to be picky about that.
