Default My design Nativity Scene Quilt 2013

I just finished this 3 week project of a quilted wall hanging I made to give to my church. I drew and designed all the items on the quilt except the angels. I them transformed each piece into fabric pieces and fused them onto my background. Then I machine appliqued each piece. Since this quilt is 54" x 35", I made it in 5 different sections, and then used the "quilt-as-you-go method to attach the sections to the large piece of backing and batting. It was lots of fun to create. I had to do a lot of planning ahead to make sure each section lined up with the others. I made the angels wings out of satin fabric and everything else is 100% cotton fabric. It's my favorite piece I've made so far and I've been quilting for about 4 years, but I have been sewing since I was a little girl, and that was a long time ago. lol
