the only thing i know is that new home is a very old american company that was eventually swallowed up by janome, which is a japanese company. so what you have is the janome predecessor.
my janome is 20 yrs + old and is really a new home. the instructions,feet, etc. are all janome. everything is interchangeable with my janome gem.
