Default Dog applique WIP

I'm working on a project for a secret santa for a dog board I'm on and I thought I would share some progress.
I converted the dog's pics to b&w and redrew the major lines as a layer in Gimp, enlarged the pics and printed tiled for poster print. (I should have flipped the images, instead I had to improvise a light box to get the reverse drawn on the fusible.) These will be wall hangings so I'm doing raw-edge applique and not terribly worried about any loose frays. They will have the dog's names appliqued on the bottom of each one. These haven't been fused to the background yet either so they don't look quite put together yet.
The question becomes, how would you quilt these? I have access to a long arm but that seems excessive since these will be about 24x24".
