Without knowing how sore his mouth is (I'm guessing he just had his teeth pulled for dentures) he might be well enough by Thursday to eat semi-solid foods and no special prep required or desired.

Breakfast can be your normal pancakes and sugar-free syrup. Sausage can be crumbled in a skillet and served on the side. Scrabbled eggs with rotel tomatoes and cheese melted on top.

Turkey is generally pretty tender. It can be shredded and sliced into small pieces without loosing any of the flavor or texture. You have your standards of smashed potatoes, yams, green bean casserole, deviled eggs, gravy, creamed corn, jello, etc. Croissants are easy to tear into tiny bites.

If he can't handle texture or chewing of any kind in the next 5 days he might want to check with his dentist. We've had several people at work get dentures and they were "gumming" stuff within a few days ... mainly because they were starving.

Best wishes to him and you.
