If you are talking about dear old Granny, no she didn't. I just knew she was madder'n a wet hen because I sent her chicks to an early demise!!!!!!
I do now know chickens do not like to get wet and will deliberately stay out of the rain, unlike ducks, so perhaps that is where it came from.
