Default SMS Modern Tree Skirt top done and ready to be quilted..

My guild is decorating a Christmas tree to be displayed at the local library. I have been making some paper pieced ornaments but also committed myself to making the tree skirt.
I just finished piecing the skirt...
The pattern for the tree skirt is on Sew Mama Sew's blog here....

I'm debating quilting it first then binding it orrrrrrr cut the center hole and back slit, sewing right sides/batting together then turning it pillowcase style and then quilting it so I don't have to do binding for it... There's something to be said about not doing binding especially for something that will get very little use...

What do you think? Quilt then bind or sew/turn/quilt no binding...?
