Hello! I'm new here. I am currently working on a scrap log cabin quilt. I started it because I went through all of my clothes because I had waaay to many and I don't wear them all. Then, because I did that my boyfriend did the same. So, I'm doing a somewhat traditional barn raising log cabin quilt of both of our old clothes that were appropriate fabric. One of his red shirts is going to be the center squares for it. :) I am very excited about this project. My mother always has sewn, so I grew up with that and her singer sewing machine that she bought in the 70's. She never really quilted, mostly made things from patterns. For some reason I despise sewing things from patterns, which I then associated with sewing machines. I have only hand pieced/quilted because that sewing machine and I didn't get along too well! It's been quite a while since I've quilted anything, this is my first project in a very long time. Also, this is the biggest one I have ever done, both in size and how small the pieces are. So, I will be asking questions! I gave in to my sewing machine boycott...because A) I will go insane hand piecing log cabin patches...all 168!! and B) My fingers will be begging me to stop! I am still not giving in on the hand quilting...I am not using a sewing machine to do that!

Also, if I was going to get a sewing machine it had to be something kinda neat. It's a Singer from the late 50's that is a light green! Very retro!
