A great method, especially for round or oval table mats. I dislike having to close an opening by hand sewing so I came up with this idea and have been using it for many years for placemats, table toppers, Christmas tree skirts,
ornaments, potholders and coasters. I have a similiar method I use if I want to make any of these reversible.
