The two books I learned the most from were technique books by Harriet Hargrave -- the one on machine quilting (on a domestic machine), and the one on invisible machine applique.
I also learned a lot from Debra Wagner's books -- I think she published only two or three, but they are excellent. That's where I learned how to divide batting up to make quilting large quilts on a domestic machine easier.
