As I understand it, Ancestry information is not necessarily "proven" information. I'm told that it can be edited to suit your own wishes as to that history. Not that it isn't an excellent resource as it may give you a new lead but do be sure you follow the lead to be sure it can be verified. Obituaries are the same. Sometimes those are written by families that might not necessarily have all the facts or even like the rest of the bunch so they omit or alter information. All takes more time but at least you know it is factual information.
