If I ever make it again (unlikely) I would definitely hand sew the ribbons/bows on. I don't know why I didn't think of that!
Thanks everyone for your advice. I think most of it is off now, and no one will notice what is left but me. The fabric held up well to acetone. Again, I am thankful it is batik because colour variations are the norm!
Now off to sewing dresden plates for a bedrunner. Merry Christmas to hub and me!
