I quilted one by going about 1/2" inside each block and around in spots to make the bumps in different colored floss. Met my coworker's approval and her son still loves it 12 years later - it's at college with him now. It's probably horrible to my current sewing, but at the time - it was the only money my brother and I had for Christmas, so I was crazy obsessive about making it look at least as nice as store bought.
