half square triangle blocks are really fun to play with- you can come up with so many different layouts with them- one time I had a couple hundred of them someone had 'gifted' me...I would grab up about 30 of them and sit at the table laying them out, turning them this way & that way until I came up with a lay out I liked thought would make a fun quilt- I recommend spending some time playing with them- you will come up with something that just strikes you as the way to go in no time.
