We have had a small glass sweet jerkin pickle for our tree for years. Our grandchildren are now nearly grown, the two youngest graduate this spring. I thought they were getting too old but at Thanksgiving they reminded me to not forget "The Pickle" this year. So we will hide the pickle once again this year.
