Gramma Nancy,

I am shocked that your hubby thinks you have a "hang-up" to expect common courtesy esp, in regard to a "thank you" for gifts given. I no longer send $$ to my niece and nephew because if they do not have the time to acknowledge my gifts...I , too, am strapped for time to send them. They have time to post on Facebook, text their friends, etc. I dont expect a handwritten note to me...I am sure that they have never been taught to do so. (Along with many a bride!) BUT, i would love a phone call, an email , or a text..to acknowledge the gift.

I sent $50 to the daughter of a good friend of mine, for her high school graduation. The check cleared within days of my mailing it to her. No thank you or any acknowledgement of the gift. She graduates college next year. I might send a greeting card ....but no $$. Sad.
