I have seen the pattern for the bowls that included the quilted tops to keep splatters from making a mess. have made at least a dozen bowls but never bothered with lids. My kids use them to reheat leftovers, chili etc. not just soup

THANKS for the laugh but I was thinking the same thing. We all have senior moments at one time or another !! My friend made me one and told me it was to be put on top to keep the microwave clean. I told her otherwise. They do really work well. Great idea to use up those scraps of batting.
