Congrats! Ds won't hold her back if her family doesn't let it! My good neighbor has a Ds brother who lives with her, the young man is fairly significantly disabled and can't live alone, but he's such a great person. He shovels my snow, rakes leaves, mows the yard and I do pay him the exact same as any other person who does yard work (I refuse to think he deserves less because he has Ds) and teach him piano. His present to his caregiver (an aunt I believe) is he's going to play her Jingle Bells on his keyboard. He's worked so hard all year to learn that, because she loves the song and he wants play it for her.
