I went to my local county museum today for a Santa visit and while I was there I was able to take some pictures of a few antique machines. It's probably going to be heavy on the pictures.
The Royal St John Sewing Machine Company was here in Springfield. This is one of their machines, I assume it sews forwards and backwards as the advertisements we have seen claim. There was a spotlight directly on this machine and the Weaver (?) behind it so there are shadows I couldn't get around. I kinda think both of these machines are Royals and the second one is on Weaver irons.

Patent Dates
This was the second machine there. The treadle irons said Weaver Treadle Company Springfield, Ohio. This was new information for me. I found a patent for it:
