Looks fine - yes the long stitches are caused by the bobbin skipping while it tries to 'catch up' as you go round corners. It's something everyone - even experienced quilters - does from time to time. I think we concentrate so much on where the needle's going next we sometimes forget to slow down in our excitement, lol.

Does your foot have an open toe? If not, and it's plastic, you can simply cut away the front bar and this will help you see exactly where that needle is - and where you're heading.

I tend to be guilty of small tight stitches every so often - I think I forget to move the fabric while I think - my multitasking capabilities are obviously slowing with age, lol.
