The machine (in the OP) could easily be turned into a handcrank since it already has the spoked wheel. If you want to use it as an electric, the electric control should still be hidden in the compartment. At least the actuator assembly and wiring are peeking out. It looks like it takes the round-type knee control lever, and if it doesn’t come with it, one could be made. I have one that someone made out of the flat-type knee lever with a modified pipe fitting added.

And a good point - it's way easier to find the flat bar than the round ones - but for some reason it's way easier to find the cases that take the round bars than it is to find them that take the flat ones. The cutoff is about 1929-1930.
You can expect to spend $30- $50 for just the bar. If you get the case top- look inside it as sometimes they are still in the brackets that hold them.
