Default Raggy Tips, Tricks and Favorites

Every year I think that we'll see the last of Rag Quilts, but they continue to be very popular. They really are great gifts for both family and friends - and they can so easily be customized. We have a couple of tips and tricks that we use (every year we make a Snuggler, and while sometimes they are minky - which come with it's own set of tips .. we usually do flannel.)

Tip #1 - Keep a piece of wax paper next to you while snipping your quilts. After every 50-100 snips or so, just snip the wax paper to keep your scissors flowing smoothly.

Tip #2 -Use scissors with a short blade - you'll get more torque out of your fingers and your hand won't tire quite as quickly

Tip #3- Wrap medical tape around your finger and thumb, right where you hold the scissors - this helps protect from deep bruising.

Question - What is your favorite scissors to use for snipping rag quilts?
