I put a screw in the wall and just used a piece of wire around a metal fitting on the ladder and then wound the wire to the screw in the wall. If your ladder is too close to the wall just give alittle more leeway in your wire for the ladder to move a bit. I tip ours forward just a bit to put towels in the back shorter half of the ladder. My other ladder doesn't have a second half so it is alittle harder to attach.

And one thing I haven't convinced DH to remember yet - when you fold the towels -they stay on the rungs of the ladder better if you fold them lengthwise first instead of into a square shape. The length makes it easier to get them to stay on. I fold once over the long way and then lay them on the rung.
