yes, it is reverse applique- she calls the technique 'fusique'. while working on this one I really decided I will NEVER make this again- but the technique itself I plan to use again- on my own design that does not entail cutting out thousands of little pieces! something simplified for the next one- I am glad that I finally jumped in- I've been looking at that pattern for years- I need to get my mind around the *upside down & backwards* copying of a pattern...challenges, new adventures for the new year. thanks all for the compliments- I am so glad it is to this point. I have a couple weeks to get it finished up...now that the hard part is done- quilting should be a joy.
