Note though ... check the 1st layout as there is a mistake in it. The wrench block on the upper R inside border needs another arm, and the wrench below it has a twisted arm
I vote for #1 too! Take another look at the 3 blocks in the upper right corner. They all contribute to the problem - LOL. This quilt would drive me nuts! I would put the blocks on my design wall and take pictures to see how I'm doing, and make changes until the pictures show me I've finally got it right! And I'd put blocks back on the design wall as I sew them together to make sure I'm doing THAT right as well! It's sew easy to make mistakes between wall and machine. Ask me how I know - LOL.
One last thing - I would play with this design a little more in EQ to see if a bit of white would make it sparkle. I think it needs a bit of white to contrast with all the dark purples.
