This is my mom's recipe. She made these every Christmas as long as I can remember.
5 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. sugar
3/4 lb butter
7 egg yolks
2 pkg. dry yeast
1 1/2 c. evaporated milk
Dissolve yeast in warm milk.
Add flour, salt, sugar and soft butter in a large bowl.
Add milk and slightly beaten egg yolks
Knead dough 10 min. by machine or 20 min. by hand.
Refrigerate at least 2 hours.
Divide dough in 4 parts.
Roll on sugar sprinkled board or counter.
Spread with nut mixture below roll up into rolls and bake at 325 until brown.
1 pound walnuts ground
1 pound powdered sugar
Whites of 7 eggs beaten until foamy.
Add to sugar and nuts and mix well.
