It depends on what your budget is, of course. I have a Brother PE770. I just purchased The Machine Embroidered Quilt (an online class on Craftsy), and Eileen Roche suggests (as do I, since I've heard several people talk about this) that your embroidery machine have the 5X7 hooping capacity as a standard. That way you're not limiting yourself on embroidery patterns. My machine does also have the smaller hoop, and I recently bought the large hoop on Amazon. That's also where I purchased my machine.
