I kind of remember seeing it done another way---like you cut out the pieces of your design, arrange the pieces onto a background fabric, and use bias strips as the leading. But that was done with an image that didn't previously have that stain glass look. I'm not sure if the technique would work well for a designt that's already spaced by leading.
