browse the pictures section of the board (narrowing search to 'French braid quilts') and you will see a wide variety of quilting designs. I've made many French braid quilts- one of my favorite patterns- each one is quilted differently- in the way I think that particular quilt would be good. one way to *audition* quilting designs is to use a piece of clear plastic (template plastic can work) use a grease pencil & draw your design, lay it on the quilt- you can see the quilt through the clear plastic & see how that design looks- if you don't like it you can wipe it off & try something different- till you find the one you like best.
