I always use a piece of lightweight fusible interfacing to fix those mistakes I make, if the batting is cotton. I never liked the zig zag because I could always feel it. This method, you don't feel anything and it is secure especially after you have quilted. A few days ago, I bought a half of yard of this gorgeous purple batik. I need to cut one strip for binding. I cut right down along the fold line. BOO HO !!!
