I think you are being too hard on yourself. For just quilting a little over a year, you did a fantastic job. I still can't quilt like that after more years than I want to admit!
I think it is a perfect "guy" quilt and your quilting is great. Every project is a learning experience for me and I keep thinking I will get better . . . and I do but only incrementally!
