Just a little info on batiks,
Most fabrics you buy from the LQS or other places are screen printed or some other method of printing. This is why you have a definitive right side and wrong side of the fabric.
Batiks are dyed fabric, not printed, they sometimes have wax placed on them in designs, then dipped in a dye bath. This is why there is no right or wrong side of a batik

With that being said, sometimes the dye's adhered better on one side or another, sometimes there was excess treatment on one side rather than the other, so it is possible to have different looks to either side.
