I love that pattern too...I also had it in my head after seeing it somewhere and did it as a doll quilt last month (Doll Quilt Swap #51; post 267). For the DQ I put a small "hook" spot in the middle of the diamond that allows felt seasonal objects to be attached (reindeer, heart, star).
